Case Form Factors

With so many case’s to choose from, it can be hard to find the one that’s perfect for you. Luckily, modern computing has given us a few terms to help distinguish one case from another. One of the biggest factors you’ll be considering when buying a case is how big you’ll want it to be. Cases come in four flavors:

Super Tower – These are the biggest of the big cases, meant to fit all motherboard form factors, and maybe a bit more. Our premier tower, the 1000D, has enough room to fit 5 HDDs, six SSDs, 18 fans, and two motherboards. This makes it perfect for streamers who want to do video rendering in a single case, or just someone who wants an impressive centerpiece computer.

Full Tower – These are the largest of the general consumer cases. Most standard consumer motherboard factors will fit in these cases, normally up to E-ATX or XL-ATX form factor. These are great for someone who is looking to really pack power into their system.

Mid-Size Tower – These are the most common case you find on the market today, filling the middle tier of case sizes. These fit up to the ATX motherboard form factors, and work well for all kinds of computer systems.

Mini Tower – The smallest of the standard tower form factors, these are generally used when you need a computer that doesn’t take up a lot of room. Perfect for the living room or desk, these fit Mini-ITX and MicroATX motherboards.
