Charging laptops with the TBT100 Thunderbolt 3 Dock

You can charge a laptop with the TBT100 Thunderbolt 3 Dock as long as the laptop can be charged through its Thunderbolt 3 port.

 

Can I charge a Windows laptop with the TBT100?

The Corsair TBT100 Thunderbolt 3 Dock can be used to charge most laptops. However, there are some Windows laptops that do not support charging through its Thunderbolt 3 port.

If your Windows laptop is plugged into your TBT100 but does not charge, your laptop is likely not compatible with Thunderbolt 3 charging.

 

 

What if my laptop requires more power to charge?

The maximum charge provided by the TBT100 Thunderbolt 3 Dock is around 85W. You will still be able to charge larger laptops that require more power, but it will take more time to fully charge.

 

 

Will my laptop be damaged if I connect two power sources to it?

No, your laptop will not be damaged if you connect two power sources. Most modern laptops will only draw power from one source, and it usually draws from the power source that most closely matches its power requirements.
