The Corsair Flash Padlock 3 is a USB drive that lets you set a PIN to keep your information safe. This article will teach you how to set a PIN and how to unlock the USB drive.
Setting a PIN for a new flash drive
Your Flash Padlock 3 will not have a user PIN out of box. This means that anyone can access the files that you store on it until you set a PIN.
To set a PIN:
- Press the Key button; the red LED will light first, followed by the green LED.
- Press the Key button twice to begin entering a new PIN; the blue LED will blink to indicate this.
- Enter a new PIN; the number you enter must be between 4 to 7 digits long.
- NOTE: The Flash Padlock 3 will not allow PINs that consist of the same number for all digits (e.g. 4444 and 666666).
- Press the Key button twice again; the green LED will blink.
- Re-enter your new PIN.
- Press the Key button twice to end confirmation of the new PIN; the red LED will light while the PIN is being saved, then the green LED will light once saving is complete.
Unlocking the Flash Padlock 3
Once you have set a PIN, all files stored on the drive will be secure and not viewable until you unlock the drive with the PIN.
To unlock your USB drive:
- Press and release the Key button; the red LED will start to blink.
- Enter your PIN using the number keys on the drive.
- Press and release the Key button; the red LED will light while the drive checks if the PIN is correct.
- If the PIN is correct, the green LED will light and the drive will be unlocked and ready to connect to a USB port.
