CORSAIR BUILD KIT: Why did my Build kit did not come with a mounting backplate?
If you recently purchased a CORE BUILD KIT with i5-13400F/RTX 3060 and noticed that your kit did not come with a mounting backplate, don't worry! The included CPU cooler may vary, and some units come with push pins for an easier installation process.
To properly install your CPU cooler with push pins, follow these steps:
Step 1: Secure the Cooler
First, place the cooler over the CPU, ensuring that it aligns with the 4 push screws and the mounting posts found on the motherboard. You can find the mounting posts in the four corners of your CPU socket.
Step 2: Push Down on the Push Screws
To properly secure the cooler, push down on the push screws until you hear a click. These push screws will securely fasten the cooler onto the CPU and motherboard.
Step 3: Check the Tightness
Check the tightness of the cooler by gently trying to move it from side to side. If it moves, then the cooler may not be securely fastened. In this case, you will need to repeat the process and push down harder on the push screws until you hear another click.
Note: If your unit came with an air cooler that includes mounting screws, you will need to install these screws into the mounting posts by rotating them until they are snug. Please refer to the video tutorial provided by Corsair for further instructions. If the embed below does not show, click here.
