Elite Capellix:How to use your old retention bracket to mount an Elite Capellix cooler to an LGA 1700 socket

The LGA 1700 CPU socket, used for Intel Alder Lake processors, has a different configuration than the LGA 1200 and LGA 115X sockets. To mount a cooler onto an LGA 1700 CPU socket, you normally need an LGA 1700 retention bracket or a cooler with LGA 1700 support out-of-the-box.

If you have an LGA 1200 or LGA 115X retention bracket, you can use our LGA 1700 Retrofit Kit to use your bracket to mount your Elite Capellix cooler with the Intel Alder Lake processor.

The LGA 1700 Retrofit Kit can be purchased from our Webstore.

Please note that this kit does NOT include any retention brackets necessary for LGA 1200 / 115X / 1700 installation, so make sure that you already have one. If you need a retention bracket, you can purchase the entire ELITE Series Retention Kit from our webstore, which includes LGA 1700.

How do I use the Retrofit Kit?

The LGA 1700 Retrofit Kit includes four standoffs for mounting your cooler with the Intel Alder Lake processor.

You can follow the instructions in this article to mount your cooler using the standoffs from the Retrofit Kit instead of the usual LGA 1200 or LGA 115X standoffs.
