RAM: Titanium hot-swappable top bar issue
We recently found an issue with our CORSAIR Titanium memory top bar built by one of our suppliers. If the top bar/LED PCB is physically rotated it will kick the module into boot loader mode. If it’s not rotated, then it will detect and work properly.
Issue: Different vendor TVS diode is causing a slight resistance change. This means when the MCU tries to detect the LED PCB, the value is out of range and it goes to boot loader mode if the LED PCB is rotated. If it’s not rotated everything works fine.
Impact: a small lot of LED PCBs.
Fix:
- Really Short Term: Customers can rotate the top bar or LED PCB.
- Our engineering team is working on a new FW to address this issue. Affected customers will be able to update the FW through iCue when released, even with modules in bootloader mode (EST: 1-2 Weeks from today 5.20.2024).
