PSU: Why is there a missing Pin on my PSU cable?
When unboxing your CORSAIR PSU, you may notice that some of your cables may have missing pins.
Examples:
Reasons for Missing Pins
1. 8-Pin PCIe Connectors:
• Some of our 8-pin PCIe connectors may have one pin missing. This is typically because one ground cable from the PSU end splits into two pins for the PCIe end.
2. 24-Pin ATX Connectors:
• The 24-pin ATX connector might have a missing pin because the -5V line was removed from the ATX specification since ATX 2.01 or newer. This missing pin is standard across many PSU designs and does not affect the performance or functionality of the power supply.
If the cable fits the connection securely and functions correctly, the missing pin is typically intentional and not a defect. However, if you have any doubts or encounter any issues, don't hesitate to contact our Technical Support team for confirmation.
