The HS55 SURROUND is a versatile headset that's compatible with multiple platforms and offers two audio modes: Stereo and 7.1 surround sound.
In Stereo mode, you can connect the headset to a wide variety of devices—such as PCs, Macs, PS4s, PS5s, Nintendo Switches, and mobile devices—using the included 3.5mm jack. For an immersive 7.1 surround sound experience on PCs, the headset comes with a 7.1 surround sound USB adapter.
If you're experiencing loud feedback or screeching sound quality with your HS55 SURROUND headset, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check the USB Port for High Power Output
For optimal performance, the 7.1 surround sound USB adapter needs a high-power USB 2.0 (or better) port. Some older keyboards and monitors may have USB ports with insufficient power.
If you're not sure how much power your USB port provides, try other ports to see if the issue persists.
2. Update Audio and Motherboard Drivers
Make sure your computer's audio and motherboard drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can cause audio issues with the headset.
3. Test on Another Computer
Try connecting the USB adapter to a different computer or laptop to see if the loud feedback persists. If the issue is resolved on the other device, your original system may have outdated drivers or may lack a high-power USB 2.0 port.
4. Try Using the 3.5mm Jack
Check if using the 3.5mm jack instead of the USB adapter resolves the audio issue. If it does, there's a possibility that the USB adapter may be faulty.
5. Check the Audio Source and Volume
Verify that the audio source is clear and that the listening volume is set to a comfortable range. If you can still hear screeching sounds at lower volume levels, please contact our support team for further assistance.
