Why does my CORSAIR headset audio quality reduced while on Bluetooth Mode?
If you are using a CORSAIR headset with Bluetooth compatibility to enjoy music or other audio, and then open an application that utilizes the headphones' built-in microphone, you may notice a reduction in audio quality and volume. Additionally, there might be some static or popping sounds.
This occurrence is due to Bluetooth operating in two modes: one for high-quality audio listening and another for both listening to audio and using the microphone. When Bluetooth switches to the second mode, the audio quality of what you are playing is diminished until the microphone is no longer active.
To address this issue, it is recommended to close any apps or programs that are currently using the microphone.
If the sound quality remains reduced even after closing these microphone-utilizing apps, you can try resetting your headset. Here are the steps to reset the two supported CORSAIR headset models:
- For Virtuoso XT, please follow the reset guide provided at this link: How to: Reset your Virtuoso Headset
- For HS70 BT, you can reset your headset using the instructions available here: How to: Reset your HS75 XB, HS70 BT, or HS80 RGB Wireless Gaming Headset
